A candidate's performance on the test is evaluated against an established standard. Total test scores are based on all sections of the test and are reported on a scale with a range of 100 to 300. The passing score of 240 was set by the Connecticut State Board of Education on April 1, 2009.
Note that there is no expiration date associated with the passing score for the Connecticut Foundations of Reading test.
For more information about score reporting, see "Score Reporting" on the program website.
An individual may retake the test as many times as necessary to pass. Examinees who wish to retake the test may do so at any regularly scheduled test administration by submitting a new registration and payment. Please refer to "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for additional information about retaking the test on consecutive test dates.
