Computer-Based Testing
The Connecticut Foundations of Reading test is offered on computer in addition to the regularly scheduled paper-based test administrations.
Beginning September 4, 2012, year-round computer-based testing (CBT) will be available Monday through Saturday (excluding some holidays) at Pearson Professional Centers throughout the United States, its territories, and Canada. Refer to "Test Dates" for information about registering and seat availability and to "Test Sites" for information about available test centers.
Registration. Registration for CBT is available only on the Internet by selecting "Register Now" on the program website. The following guidelines apply to CBT registration:
- There is an additional CBT fee of $25 for each CBT test appointment. This fee is in addition to the $30 registration processing fee and the regular test fee. See "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for complete information.
- You should plan to register as early as possible before your desired test date.
- You must wait 60 days after taking a computer-based test before retaking the test on computer.
Test administration. For CBT, candidates complete the test by selecting answers on-screen to multiple-choice items and typing responses to open-response items. See "Reporting to the Test Site," "What to Bring to the Test Site," and "Test Site Rules" for details about the day of the test, including information about identification and security policies.
Score reporting. Beginning in September 2012, test results for computer-based testing will be reported within five weeks of the date on which you took the test. Refer to "Score Reporting" on the program website for a schedule of score report dates.
